The Rising Above Initiative works with non-custodial parents to help them become economically empowered and self-sufficient

The program targets non-custodial parents living in Cuyahoga County, who are unemployed or underemployed and connected to CSEA, OWF, TANF or PRC services.  Rising Above provides a four-week series of workshops focusing on:  Personal Development, Workforce Development, and Fatherhood Education.  The program also provides individual case management, via one-to-one consultation/advocacy and a 24-hour hotline.  Following completion of the workshop series, the program provides employment placement and retention services.  Rising Above coordinates its resources with a host of business, county, community based, faith based, and social service agencies.
