Three family reunification services are offered to Corrections Clients who are at the Salvation Army's Harbor Light Complex:
One Sunday a month is dedicated to Corrections Clients and their Families. Family members are invited to attend a church service and children's activities are offered. The families have to opportunity to eat together as a family after church. After the meal, the Pastor directs an activity for the individual families and then following the activity, families have the opportunity to visit together.
The Center for Families and Children delivers the Returning Home program to Corrections Clients at Harbor Light. Returning Home focusses on strengthening family ties. Staff work together with the client and family member to assess and determine what long and short term goals the client may need to address upon entering the community - i.e. housing, parenting, education, legal issues and employment.
The Urban League of Greater Cleveland targets fathers with the Harbor Lights program and refers them to their Rising Tide program, sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative. Clients attend special events designed to help fathers bond with their children. Clients also receive assistance legal and child support issues.
