Organization Overview
Just Like Us Enrichment Center is a non-profit organization since 2002 dedicated to strengthening families and communities through re-entry, early childhood education programs, professional development for teachers and family development services within childcare centers.
The Mission:
To strengthen families by empowering individuals re-entering communities toward self-sufficiency through innovative prevention, training, education and supportive services.
Family Development Philosophy:
JLU believes in using a family business base development approach in all of its work. By building healthy family relationships our communities are stronger. JLU clients are coached and supported in creating positive relationships within the family arrangement and in the community.
Re-entry Program
• JLU provides a 24 month re-entry program. The program uses a family development approach to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient.
• The program begins with an intake and assessment and then works to assist individuals in obtaining employment and stable housing.
• After 30 days of stable employment, clients are led through training around finances and financial planning, the creation of an individual case plan, an education plan and a personal plan working toward home ownership.
• Finally clients are coached through a process of becoming involved, active contributors in their families and communities. Coaching and mentorship is provided for each client on a weekly basis.

Early Learning Initiative
• JLU works with community day care centers within eight counties throughout the State of Ohio to provide enriching educational curriculum preparing children for success in school.
• The program stems from the belief that children grow up to be “just like us” and by making an investment in our children, we create a strong and productive generation of the future.
• JLU understands the challenges of re-entering parents and their day care programs include positive parenting classes, coaching and support.
• Early Learning Initiative programs work to build parent participation, creating strong and caring relationships between parents and their children.
